I seem to be able to get it working by plugging into a mac and restoring the drive. . . . the only problem is now her iPod will only update though the mac as the two file systems are not compatible mac to windows. . . . Probably because macs are more sophisticated. . . .
Ill iPod

Ill iPod
It seems like Lizzie's iPod has developed a little bit of a fault, I don't quite know what is going on but it seems to go through a stage of not being able to read the hard disk, there is a little crash and then will not restore though windows.

Wow! Lizzie, Look a unbiased and honest opinion from a fellow techo-boffin! I suggest we take that advise as soon as possible!

If you throw them out of a window, maybe, although the iMac may well have more uplift due to lack of tower.
I'm sure our resident Mac fanboy will point out that Macs have already overtaken PCs, in terms of design and slinkiness, and I'm inclined to agree. Sales-wise, they're probably a long way off, maybe a 5-10% market share (likely about 5%), which the new campaign may increase.

Macs have about a 5% market share in the US and less at about 2-3% in the UK. I will be joining the ranks of the minority as soon as we get back from the honeymoon - monies permitting.
They will not really overtake PC's due to the seemingly higher cost of the equipment - though if you really bought a similar spec PC you would be paying approximately the same. What you don't see when you look at the mac price is they always have decent graphics card and other equipment, wireless, bluetooth, etc all as standard.
Some will only ever look at the lowest price and think they are getting a bargin. Personally I don't rate the low end machines unless all you are doing is word and internet. Controversial I know! :D

I'd almost consider an iMac, because I don't do much asides from internet and other spreadsheet type stuff at the moment so I wouldn't miss any of the high-end PC-only software. However, I don't intend to upgrade for at least a year, so they've not got me just yet.
