Pan's Labyrinth

Post by Mike »

This is a dubbed Spanish film which seems to be more literally translated as Labyrinth of the Faun, however, from what I can gather online the Faun and Satyr is famously known as Pan from Greek Mythology so may be one of those oddities of translation.

Spanish film seems to be really really strong (well the translated ones are!) and I am very much enjoying them. Much more than I would have expected anyway. This tale tells the story of a little girl and her mother in the Spanish Guerilla war in Franco's time.

The cimenatography was amazing, the script was great and all round a classic.

This website seems to support my literal translation of the title. Look at what a little bit of guess work can do with new languages. Of course it could have been totally wrong, just lucky I guess! :D
