Who is your Chancellor?!

Post by Mike »

We were talking about this the other day, now Gordon Brown has been crowned PM who is the new Chancellor?

Check the poll out above.

PS In addition to the above and the PM can you name one other cabinet minister?!

I see we all know who the Chancellor is. So far.

When you guys are in an Old Folks Home and they want to know if you're still with us (mentally that is) they will ask you the date (who knows after sitting looking at a wall for months?) the Prime Minister's name (who cares at that age?) and what are the names of all these film stars in these photos (assuming you ever did know them and were ever interested in film or TV)

So asking who the Chancellor is could be a trick question. Is it General Pinochet? Barbara Windsor? The Queen's Corgis?

Damn, I had a 50/50 between Darling and Hutton. Looks like I chose wrong.

Either way, we'll probably get the same shitty stealth tax increases. If I hear Brown talk about full employment and keeping inflation low at the same time again I'm writing to our MP. I was also pleased to find out that private sector pay increases are now greater than those in the public sector. Yay.

Hmm, I suppose that makes a sort of sense. What happened to wanting to Change The World though?

I suppose the world can wait.

The world won't change until the young dont get disillusioned, then we will get into power with lots of new ideas!

I have to admit I took an educated guess BUT then again, it was fairly easy based on that list. I haven't noticed any change but I dare say I will soon.... will it be postive? Unlikely, I am disillusioned at this point.

On a side note, I think that we all do have a ''I want to change the world'' aspect inside us it is just that we do not have the position of power to do so. What we do have is the position to improve other people's lives by the work that we do and therefore we can, in a small way, improve the world.... that is until some idiot in power screws it all up based on opinion poll results/what he thinks, etc.

Hmm...by selling them electronic equipment in a fast and easy manner am I really improving someone's life as much as a teacher?

I'm in it purely for the money! Now if someone could start paying me some money I'd be most appreciative!

I didn't mean it like that. I meant that we all had a job to do and we all take responsibility for it. If we don't take responsibility for it then we don't care and it starts off a chain of events. If we all stopped caring entirely and refusing responsibility for our actions then I think the world would become a much worse place both professionally and in life.

we might not have figured out who's running the country because the government have been so quiet compared to the blair's bang-bang politics of spin and bullshit. ive seen brown do maybe three interviews since taking power all related to important issues [eg: foot and mouth], and not bother with the usual sales shite and endless talking that blair did. of course, it is still parliament's summer break so that could be about to end
