Tampered Mail

Post by Mike »

Hiya

I have been getting letters and Christmas cards that have obviously been half opened to ascertain the contents. I don't think it is likely to have anything missing from these cards but I was amazed that people would be so blatant. I wonder if it is the postman or someone at the sorting office but it does seem very strange.

I actually sent the Royal Mail a complaint email about this because it is happening more frequently. Do you think that was the best thing to do or am I likely to get no post at all from now on?!

Always report tampered mail. It's a criminal offence to do anything to a piece of mail if you aren't the recipient, so they need to have these things reported. If it still keeps happening, ring your local depot and tell them.

I got a really weird email back asking me for the posting reference number and all that jazz! I don't have any it was just a Christmas card that someone probably though there was money in! Oh and it was a 'do not reply to this email' email so smeg knows where I am actually supposed to send it!
