St Trinian's

Post by Mike »

This is the film about a private 'sink' school with some very eccentric teaching methods and an aristocratic Headteacher. The Education department has a new 'hard line' minister in charge and they (and the bank) are looking to foreclose on the problem school once and for all. The ingenious (and scantily clad) girls of St Trinian's are determined not to let this happen and hatch a genius criminal masterplan to repay the school debts and show up the Education Department at the same time.

There are some interesting performances from Russell Brand, Stephen Fry and Rupert Everet (twice). I enjoyed the film quite a bit, there were some laugh out loud moments in a very cheesy film. All in all I am going to veer towards a 4s. I suspect this is more to do with low expectations from the film and more objectively 3s would be more appropriate. Entertaining but not a cinematic great.

PS Lizzie was not convinced by the method of getting men interested by dressing the actresses like slutty school girls . . . . I don't think I see her point though!

i have been quite interested in this film since seeing the adverts...not like the black and white or early sixties versions at all where the school girls were actually school girls. and what is it about a girl in her late teens or early twenties [or thirties or forties for that matter] dressed as a school girl that attracts some men? not me of course, im above such perverse fantasies :-?

Personally I don't think that they looked like school girls at all in that film. . . . Some freaky ass well developed school gals if you ask me. :-0
