the count of monte cristo

Post by Fez »

a classic french story about love and revenge originally written by dumas that has been adpated for the silver screen dozens of times mainly because it is the perfect adventure tale. this latest incarnation of 2002 stars jim caviezial [prior to having the shit whipped out of him in jolly latin romp the passion of the christ], guy pearce and the impossibley beautiful dagmara dominczyk. a decent version for those of you unfamiliar with the novel or who want some swashbuckling action with your popcorn 4s

however if you have the time and dont mind subtitles, a stunning multi-part french series from 1990s with donald depardu would be highly recommended 5s

This was my favourite story as a kid... I love this film too 4s (and have it on DVD).
The book isn't an easy read tho'- the film moves things around considerably to help build tension (but more sympathetically than Golden Compass).
