Server Move

Hiya

Just to let you know that my Web Hosting company will be moving their data to a new data centre on Friday 28 March 2008, the website and forum is likely to be down for anywhere up to 48 hours. I will be taking a backup of the forum database on Thursday to make sure that we are minimising the risk of loosing data.

It is unfortunate that I will be away at a wedding from early on Friday till sunday evening, if there are any problems I will be unable to assist during that time. By Sunday night though I should be back and able to see what has happened.

The forum database and phpBB files were backed up very thoroughly last night just in case there is a problem with the move. I am off soon but hope to see you all at the other side of the server move very shortly!

Yay, the move seems to have gone okay, thankfully the downtime was not too great.

I don't know about everyone else but I have noticed a significant improvement in the response time of the forums since the move. Yay!

It seemed to be down earlier today- 0900-0945? could be my uni desktop being stupid tho'.
back now. YAY.

Yup, don't know why but I think they were upgrading their back of house information earlier so it might have had a bit of an effect.
