Kit Houses!

Post by Mike »

You must have heard of kit cars, well now you can get a Kit House from a company called Rocio Romero. They don't look half bad and they are very cheap when compared with other forms of housing. They are obviously taking advantage of the whole mass production thing, but could you imagine a row of these thing?

No? Well try thinking of a terraced house. :-D

I actually like those, and with a starting price of just $35,000 I could almost afford one! :) Now I just need to find some land...

The land would be the expensive part - might put you back £60-100K if you are lucky. . .

Why are they not real houses? The difference is that you would get a four bedroom 1400 square foot house for £135k not a two up two down! :-D

You know what I mean! They remind me of the prefab houses my Mum was brought up in (a little more stylish though).

These sort of things do offer real solutions to our housing problems and they're definitely more environmentally friendly than paving over huge tracts of green-belt for another batch of identikit-housing estates.
