Well, just watched this last night... a classic British mostly-psychological horror film. Shot entirely on location in the western islands of Scotland, it follows a police officer, Sergeant Howie, from the mainland as he investigates the reported disappearance of a child.
I'm not big on analysis, but it builds the tension up into a thoroughly unsettling ending, and is only 84 minutes long so never has a chance to drag. Definitely has some weird 70s moments, including a couple of musical interludes and some nudity, but they give the islanders an almost sinister air and highlight the growing friction between them and Howie. I'm sure someone else can do a better job of a review. But as far as I'm concerned, a quality film:
