OK, did anybody else happen to see the new tv series Lost on weds night on channel 4??

apparently this is a big hit across the pond but ina country that voted george bush into office this is not necessarily a good thing

just curious to the general consensus? i enjoyed it, although it did have several rather twin peaks moments (such as an invisible king kong which apparently is a polar bear, a polar bear junior and i could go on....and thsi was jus the pilot episodes !!!!)

Sue has taped it, but the thought of watching it excites me about as much as the prospect of being trapped, or lost, in the company of several brain-dead Hollywood stereotypes on a desert island. You could add a blazing plane wreck to fulfill all my nightmares!

I lasted ten minutes before I wandered off back to the computer. Laughable, IMHO. Sometimes I feel sorry for the actors and acresses who have to deliver such dire lines....I have to acknowledge they do it with conviction though.

Perhaps reruns of "Gillighan's Island" would be more fun.

I saw the epoisodes of Lost yesterday night and was mildly interested for the whole programme. I definately dont think that it was up to the hype advertising. However, I will continue to watch it to see if it gets any better.

I am not holding out much hope.

Due to the snails pace of DIY in my house we have been without TV since i switched the rooms around about 4 weeks ago and have not yet run the new aerial cable.

We have been trawling through our collection of films, listening to music or reading since. Life without the constant supply of low level drivle like soap operas is wonderful. I recommend it to anybody. I don't miss adverts or soaps the only thing i do miss is a little news in the morning with my cornflakes but hey i can always get a newspaper.

I was very pleased to see they played 'I have never' on Lost last week. Although a slightly more depressing version than the one I usually play with the Lizzie and the Joolie and the Mike. Don't think we'll ever be saying "I have never... ooh! I know! I have never killed a man!"

Nope last time we all played that it was more like "Rob had never. . . . " :D However, if I wind Lizzie up enough then maybe the killed a man option might become more appropriate!

I am liking lost more but for all the hype I still think that I would be quite happy to miss a weeks episode without blinking. Shame really.

Randomly caught an episode of this 'Lost' thing last night. When it was being publicised prior to screening I had always intended to tune in and see what I thought but for some reason never did and wasn't really that bothered, didn't really feel like I was missing out...however...finally caught an episode last night and am slightly concerned that I may have made an error in judgement, I was gripped throughout, it was like a revelation, the diversity of character and relationships and knitting together of past and present. Adverts and office gossip however made it relatively easy for me to grasp the gist of what may or may not have gone on before and the episode in itself was like a little self contained story as it explored character narrative.
Well anyway I will defo be tuning in next week to see if they're ever getting off the island and if anyone would like to fill me in on any significant information in the plotline that you think I should know about it would be well received.

* Black rock is bad.
* There is a wierd transmittion that was discovered to have been broadcasting for about 16 years.
* The numbers hurley won the lottery with used to be broadcast using that transmittion but the odd french woman changed it.
* Odd monster in the jungle that they seem to have forgotten about at the moment.
* They build a golf course.

* Curley black haired gal has killed a man!

You forgot -

the pregnant girl's (Claire) baby is some sort of evil being acording to a psychic - who it is implied got her on the plane deliberately because he knew it would crash and thus get the baby away from society.

French woman had weirdo companions who seem to have gone a bit mental and kidnapped pregnant girl. SHe escaped, they wanted her back, other crash survivors killed weirdo guy. Now Clare can't remember what happened to her.
