Solutions to Mobile Internet

Post by johnriley1uk »

I get terrible withdrawal symptoms when I go on holiday and have no Internet....the last thing I do before we leave home is hug my computer until I'm dragged away from it. [-]

What to do?

Currently my thinking is that I might just get a Mobile Internet Broadband Modem for the laptop. Then the screen will certainly be big enough. If I really wanted to there are mini-laptops for around £200 that are specifically for the purpose I have in mind.

Then I will just upgrade my phone as normal rather than going the iPhone route.

In one way I like the iPhone, but for any serious amount of web browsing I think I would find the small screen just too small.

Any thoughts upon this proposed line of action? :?:

I think my thoughts are pretty widely known on this issue so I will leave it to others to discuss the merits of Mobile Broadband USB adapters etc.

Hey! I managed two days without surfing the Internet for anything other than pubs and tesco's. That is pretty good going for me, okay I was worried about surfing and a lack of battery charging facilities but for this instance I will gloss over that fact! That reminds me, I will have to look for a car charger for iPods and iPhones.

The decision was made today.

Upgraded phones to Nokia 6301.

Added Orange Mobile Broadband to contract at £15 per month. I can dongle with the best!
