World Book Day
World Book Day Today and apparently 66% of the people surveyed in the link lied about reading 1984 and War and Peace. I can guarantee that I have read both of these book and am glad to fall into the 34% of people who have not lied about reading a 'kudos' novel.

I will happily tell the truth also, I've never even picked either 1984 or War and Peace up! My conscience is feeling very clear this afternoon now!

Re: World Book Day
I've read em both, and hated war n peace... russki political intrigue ain't that intriguing to me. I was BORED a lot of the time reading that one. I only finished it out of stubbornness and now can be smug about having read it (and never having to do so again!).
HEY! HO! Lets go!

Re: World Book Day
I loved War and Peace! It was an amazing zeitgeist of the time and very interesting. The less interesting (read boring) bits of the book were the retellings of historical battles. They ended up quite dry.
