Aparently, despite being a Halifax customer for nearly 20 years, I have not been validated. . . who knows what that means but it does have the effect of me not being able to add Millies new accounts to my internet banking. To validate I have to go to the bank (again) to present a driving license and other bank statement or utility bill so they can see me and can also validate my address.
How bizzare. This will have been the fourth visit to the bank to set up Millies account fully (that was applied for on the internet after the first painful visit) and it has taken over 4 weeks to complete. What a pain in the bottom.

Re: Validation
And the government pretend that ID cards will help with these sort of things. Not a chance. There will be the same runaround and the cost of the ID card on top.
When I first started banking the Bank manager and Assistant Manager knew who I was. Not any more.
By the way, now that you've mentioned Halifax in a public post I'd be curious to know if you start to get a new wave of phishing e-mails. "Your Halifax Online account has been suspended, to reactivate please follow this link...."

Ah, the joys of having a good local branch.
I used to date my bank managers daughter! Which certainly helps when you need an overdraft extension- we spend more time talking about how she (the daughter) is than my finances.- probably for the best!
My bank, (which Bex works for-so you can guess who I'm talking about ) STILL haven't adjusted my address... depsite 3 phonecalls... and you can't do it online.

That is good of them to keep sending your sensitive account information to someone elses house!
As a rule I always ignore emails from any Bank. They would have to be pretty clever to get the email address used for my internet bank, link the account to the post and then spam me. If they want to go to the trouble then that is fine by me, basically beacuse I ignore emails from any bank. . . see where this is going.

Re: Validation
As it turns out I did not need to be validated, I had two profiles. . . . don't know why. I guess this is the danger of having internet banking, they can blame you when things go wrong.
I am always very wary when starting new transfers between accounts - if I make a mistake that money is gone forever, if the bank does it you can blame them!
