Amazingly a rain forest was discovered in Mozambique. The government there has agreed to allowing this area to become a protected zone to prevent loggers and other commercial operations destroying the habitat of a newly discovered species of chameleon and snake.
The most interesting part of this discovery was the method. Google Earth identified the remote area around Mount Mabu. I am off to Google Earth to search for it and other 'hidden' rain forests.
How is it that every time I open Google Earth I have to update it before I do anything else? It could be because I almost never use it!
Photographs on the Telegraph Website. This is almost old news as it was first discovered by researchers in 2005 when they were looking for a new conservation / research project.
Article on Telegraph website too.
