Re: In the News
That last set was immense. Fair play to Roddick, no-one thought he'd make it that far, let alone challenge for the title before the tournament.

Re: In the News
King of Pop is still selling well and working hard to dent his £400 million of debt.
Billions of Credits have been stolen from an online bank in Eve Online. A bank that is not supposed to sell their 'online' currency in exchange for real money. The money was effectively stolen by the CEO of the Bank to pay his real world rent and medical bills. Nice.

"But you know, if I had to do it again, I probably would've chosen the same path based on the same situation."
The guy who stole that money sounds completely amoral. If people knew how hugely unforgiving Eve Online can be to play and do well in, then they'd realise how serious losing this amount of virtual money was. I'd almost say it should've been treated like a normal theft once he redeemed it for real currency, but no government's legislators would want to get involved in that.

Re: In the News
I like the idea of trying Eve Online but I was worried that I would get seriously owned. After all who would want to run a virtual bank?!

Re: In the News
It's okay, running a bank's optional, but some people do devote way too much time to running the larger corporations... it's potentially a huge time sink, which is why I stopped playing it fairly quickly.
The rabbit article is just weird, and has reminded me of something sadly related that I need to post in the video thread.

Re: In the News
Google to launch a Chrome operating system as the first new 'big company' playing in the market for years. It will be interesting to see how well it does. Apple OS has been around for about the same time as Windows and it has struggled to keep a double digit market share!

Re: In the News
Can you install the Apple OS on PCs though? If it's Mac-only, that would limit its market share.
I was quite intrigued to read about Google's foray into the OS market. I just hope they don't take users away from the other open-source projects like Linux/Ubuntu etc.

118800 are struggling to convince the great British Public that a telephone directory of all Mobile numbers is a good idea. It is a good idea to try and register your number as ex-directory before the service launches. If it ever comes online again that is!

118800's been down pretty much since its launch, which doesn't bode well. I'll be checking and removing my number as soon as I can access the site!

Woman who gives birth at 66 dies 2 years later from a cancerous tumour. She now has left two children without anyone obvious to take care of them. Nicely done.
Shopper Charged $23 quadrillion dollars (that is $23,148,855,308,184,500 to you an me) for buying a packet of cigarettes. This must be a good hint to stop!
