forgot to post earlier and say how cool it was to meet Amelia (even if she's too small for me to hold- I'm not the best with TINY people. Bex was happy to have a hold tho).

you both seem like very proud parents.

Awww, well done you two, especially to Lizzie - you have my sympathy, Charlotte's birth was very similar and your story brought back memories! Luckily we *just* made it to the hospital in time :-0 No pain relief ain't easy as I well know - much respect!

Welcome to little Amelia Jane x

Is there a trick to getting to the Ameila section on the forum? It says I'm not allowed.

Is it the beard?

I bet its the beard.

Its definitely the beard. Right?

p

OK, got there, its just the redirect off the main menu which doesn't work for me apparently. I got in using the link in the site announcements section.
She's definitely growing fast!

Hum. Did not know there was an automatic beard ban on the link. Will go and re-inforce that one immediately.

I think his point was that there'd be less need for medical intervention if there was proper antenatal care that focussed on natural pain relief and making mothers feel more at ease. Unfortunately this got lost amongst one or two awful turns of phrase he used. If anything, the article shows us that no two births are the same, and that all options should ideally be available to mothers-to-be.

I think that based on what Becky has said and Lizzies experiences it is a very positive process that should not scare people. It is interesting his theory that people are more scared of Childbirth the safer it has become.

I'm not scared of the labour, I'm scared of the nappies! Not entirely sure whether I want the hassle of children, though Millie is rather cute and baby sick doesn't put me off. Actually its a lot better than cat sick, cos at least they don't sound like they are about to die and then proceed to throw up in small patches all over the floor.

It is a lot more natural feeling than I expected. I miss the random nights of boozing and going places but the rewards are more than worth it.
