Where do you want me to start??

I've been listening to a variety of cool stuff recently, but I dunno what you'd appreciate.
Newton Faulkner http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rjT86g9gTKk is worth checking out- cool acoustic guitar stuff, Jose Gonzalez http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s4_4abCWw-w is similar.
Tito and Tarantula- the band from Dusk till Dawn, mexican infused blues rock http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dIBEo-hUARQ
Pearl Jam http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S2yuDM3tyHI have a new album, as do Muse http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1f7aNtsqvtQ , Frank Turner http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gfGLzDQ7e-k , Wildhearts , and (soon) Biffy Clyro http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k1GP7__gfRQ .

Creedence Clearwater Revival are awesome for some old school southern rock. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ec0XKhAHR5I
Loudon Wainwright (Rufus and Marthas dad) is very witty Americana folk. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BKqZZg2U6t4

Mastodon?? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7kcErNWtw1o

I have more... but more guidance is needed really!
I used to HATE it in Blockbuster when customers'd come in and say " I want something good"... "Well what do you like??"..."Oh I don''t know, just good films." AAAHHH.

Hope it helps. ;-)

I would keep a copy of Irreversible for moments like those. Still not seen it yet though.

Paramore have a new album out: video here.
Regina Spektor has a not-so-new album out (released June/July), but I really like her stuff: videos here... and here.

Do you mean new to you or newly released?

New to me to be honest. I will have a look at some of those vids when I get home. Sometimes it is good to refresh your music collection with a new genre. . .

I thought I'd hijack this slightly old thread to say that I've been listening to Nirvana- Live at Reading 1992.

BL00DY HELL! I'd forgotten just how GOOD Nirvana were!

What have you all been listening to?

I've pretty much been listening to Kate Bush - Running Up That Hill at any apportunity. Inevitably more Regina Spektor as well.

Also, Reel Big Fish are very good live. Recommended if they're back through anyone's area again and you don't hate ska-punk.

Biffy Clyro and Blink-182 second one is embarrassing but true. I was also thinking about asking my dad to lend me some of the Franki Valli CD's with my favourite songs on. There are a couple that stand out and quite catchy.

No shame in Blink-182. They were actually a pretty decent poppy-punk band (Travis is a MASSIVELY underrated drummer- youtube soldja boy :-0 ).
In a similar punk vein, and following on from me rediscovering the fact that bass guitar is WAY better than "normal" guitar. I've been listening to Rancid in the lab all day (no one else doing labwork for some reason). Matt Freeman, one of the best bassists ever?

Discuss... for the record, I'm also voting for John Paul Jones, Steve Harris, and Flea (although I don't actually like RHCP- they always seem to add up to less than the sum of their parts. However, Flea IS good).

I've been listening to Fightstar recently... and am rather worried by how much I like their music. Melodic and also quite heavy in places... but Charlie Simpson. Is it OK to like them?
