House M.D

Post by Mike »

House M.D is a drama about an anti-social, genius Doctor called Gregory House. His specialism in diagnostic medicine and his addiction to pain killers makes an interesting story as he systematically tries to destroy everything good about his life.

Hugh Laruie is extremely convincing. I love the I don't give a crap mentality (even though it appears to be a facade).
Lisa Elelstein makes a very good 'love interest' for both House and Wilson (House's 'Best' friend - by which I mean the only person who puts up with his antics).

The reason I am writing this review is due to the Season 5 Finale. It starts out like any other episode with Lizzie grumbling about it being a poor end of season episode. Suddenly at about 3/4 mark the script is doing plot gymnastics and pulls together a story line that has run over the last 5 episodes in dramatic fashion. Full marks - I must admit I did not see this one coming at all.

5S for Season 5.

Season 6 starts on Sky 1 in a weeks time. :-D My House M.D addiction continues.

I have to admit, it was a good ending. I didn't think they would have done what they did but full marks to them as the first two episodes of Season 6 have been brilliant. I must say I am really starting to get into House and I have enjoyed it for about the past year. The characters are actually interesting and the storylines are compelling even if, like me, you don't have the first clue about medicine. Plus, House's one liners are hilarious. It is very clever scriptwriting indeed.

SPOILERS ALERT!

Season 6 has been good so far. I am glad that the mental institue is behind him. I wonder what a new and 'healed' House will be doing back at work? Addiction to happy pills anyone?!

Season 6 ends in dramatic fashion and was amazing. I would rate Series 6 as 5s as with season 5. I can't really wait for Season 7 but I will have to wait, no choice really!
