Secret Tunnels Tour 8th August 2010

We're back from the mysterious disused tunnels of the Manchester & Salford Junction Canal. This image shows one of the towers built on the canal basin bed. Its function is unknown.

A gent at work who is a canal buff and used to work on the original bid to convert the warehouse (sadly we lost) says these used to be the goods lifts that took the stuff from the narrow boats to the railway or the warehouse.
