Films

Post by Mike »

Chello,

On sat we had a bit of a movie watching marathon. The four films were Super Troopers, Mystery Men, Anchor Man and 40 Year old Virgin.

Unfortunately I missed the last half hour of super toopers but that was turning out to be a very funny film. The others were great, I especially liked anchorman. It gave a great idea for pub quiz name. Since Lizzie is the spanish expert I will let her spell out the name as it is in spanish! :D

Over all I would give the fims
Super Troopers 4S
Mystery Men 4S
Anchorman 5S
40 Year Old Virgin 4S

PS I think that the last rating has reduced since I saw it in the cinema, that is due to the film not being as funny once you know what is going to happen. ttfn

I'm with Mike - 40 year old virgin was a dissapointment on the second viewing.

I think it's more of a man's film on reflection !!

did you look like Christina Augilera on the advert?

I liked the majority of 'Forty Year Old Virgin' but found that a great deal of it was the same gag recycled and repeated over and over again. However, it did make me laugh and I would give it 3 / 5 stars. The last bit was hilarious as was his comment during the poker game.

I was unprepared for just how surreal Anchorman was. Starts pretty normal, then just goes off on a tangent occasionally. Nice film. I'll pretty much go with Mike's ratings, with maybe one less star for Mystery Men. Possibly for 40 Year Old Virgin, too.
