Bathrooms

Post by Mike »

Hiya

I was talking to Liz at pool last night about bathroom manufacturers / designers. CP Hart is a really cool person to buy from. I don't seem to be able to find the tap with the colour changing lights at the moment but I will keep searching and post again if I find it.

But, Fez, have you seen those bathrooms and some of the fittings? They're pretty funky. Even I find myself getting a little excited about them...

I can see what you mean, but to be honest it doesn't excite me.

What I did really like was the ancient bathroom we had when we stayed at Gwydir Castle near Llanrwst. The fittings were probably early 20th century, the bath would have been big enough for four people at once and deep enough for a couple of ocean going yachts. I exaggerate of course, but by modern standards this was huge. The taps were those enormous bulbous things that unleashed torrents of hot or cold water. Wonderfully ancient and interesting.

The modern stuff on that site seems rather barren by comparison.

I agree, some of the products are pretty cool (for bathroom stuff).

Their website on the other hand is dire (in my opinion). Not only does it use pop-ups( Grr...what is this? 1999), it also ate all of the other tabs I had open in Firefox meaning I had to re-load this site. Bad website, naughty website, go and sit in the corner till you learn how to behave properly!

I am currently staying at Rowenna's mum's house and her and John (partner) have a ''rainmaker'' that they imported from Germany on the internet. Now that is cool! As showers go, it is fandabidose! As prices go, it is pretty damn steep. They have a pretty extravagent house but have decorated it nicely with a ''designer toilet'' from Villeroy and Boch! Now that is snazzy, supreme comfort for the necessities of life!

I like keeping an eye on the designer websites like that. I suppose it is partly taking work home but you gotta live Architecture just a little bit. . . is all good. I definitely like the items on that site though, it would be good to be able to afford the accessories too. . . . :D
