Catch 22

Post by Mike »

This was a film directly lifted (in parts) from Joseph Heller's novel. It follows the life of Captain Yossarian as he desperately tries to get our of flying more bombing missions.

The world around him is full of 'Catch-22' situations. My favorite being this (paraphrased)
Yossarian "Ground me, I am insane and therefore should not fly"
Doctor "You can't be insane - you would be insane to fly any more missions"
Yossarian "Ground everyone else then, they are flying missions and are therefore insane"
Doctor "I can't ground them. They have to ask to be grounded"
Yossarian "But I AM asking to be grounded"
Doctor "But you are obviously sane because of it!"

And so on! lol

Film I would rate 3S
Book would gain a 5S rating.

I need to read more of his books. At the moment I am reading 'The devil wears Prada'

I have become a little put off Crime and Punishment recently. It is a good book which deserves awakeness and concentration. When I get home recently I have neither!
