A classic gangster film centred on cracking the Al Capone crime syndicate in Chicago during Prohibition (1928 to be exact!). There were some very cool actors in it - Sean Connery, Robert DeNero and Andy Garcia. Kevin Costner is also in the film but I can not see beyond the Robin Hood era.
I definitely loved the iconic scene in the train station where they are having a gun battle as a baby carrier bounces down the steps in slow motion. I know it has been parodied in the Naked Gun films - I think it was 33 and a third. . . . maybe someone else knows better.
I would rate the film at least I can not decide if it deserves more, I will sleep on it and consider.

i do rate this film quite highly and it does contain a rare good performance by costner that is sadly lacking from almost everything else he does. plus there's that great connery speech about "if they pull a knife, you a pull a gun..." several memorable scenes, definately invokes the atmosphere of the times and generally very entertaining. i'd go for

Shame he did not take his own advise and realise a dude with a Tommy gun would be waiting outside his house. I really don't get that scene. Why would you bother? You might as well go in with the Tommy anyway and blast him away before he gets to his own shootin irons.
That speech is a classic btw - much agreement!
