Morecambe

Post by Mike »

I must be very naive but I was in a building doing a survey today. Some time in the week previous someone had managed to break into the building and had totally wreaked the joint.

In one of the rooms a curtain had been hung over the window, in the bedroom there was a nearly totally eaten cake, abandoned syringes, syringe tops and loads of clothes. In the attached ensuite there was abandoned syringes, a silver spoon with white residue on the centre and a lighter. The really scary thing in the ensuite was that exploded blood on the tiles above the sink as though from a sudden nose bleed and the toilet roll with blood on.

I did not bother to survey that room. It made me very afraid! :?

You were wise not to survey that room. It needs a decontamination squad before anyone goes near it.

That must've been one of those "o...kay" moments. I read that as blood on the ceiling the first time as well, which added to the drama. You were probably wise to stay out of there, as lovely diseases such as hepatitis are spread on contact with contaminated blood.

Well it was a fun filled day with someone being carted out of a house up the road after suffering from a Over Dose and dying. They were literally pulled out in a body bag. I hope their regeneration helps somewhat to reduce the problem. :?

why were you surveying such an obvious shithole to begin with? have you been rubbing someone up the wrong way at the office?

The house was supposed to have been clean and tidy, some people broke in and wrecked the joint and created this little drug den since. We did not survey the room with all this stuff in it, I believe my years of architectural training complete with Health and Safety knowledge helped me identify the potential hazards in this working environment. . . .

Sadly Morecambe has suffered from years of decline in its tourist industry and I guess this blossoming drug problem is the by-product of this. I hope you've got a pair of boots with thick soles for all those needles.

Well actually there was a bit of a mix up. I had on my trainers as Bryn had brought a pair of boots, one size 6 and one size 10. I will be sorting out my own PPE equipment from now on.

Welcome to my world. Sounds like a fairly clean house to me but then I do work in Moss Side and Wythenshawe.
