my boss is an idiot! Hardly news but...
He's been whinging that his new monitor doesn't have sound... so I took a look... it REALLY helps if you plug in the audio cable!
in other news, jetwashing is fun, right up to the point where it rebounds off a wall and soaks you. Thank god for waterproofs!

Is the jet washing from today's experience or just a general, it is cool!?

Jetwashing was what I spent the morning doing... and if one more porter makes a joke about "you can do my car when you're done here" I may very well have to give them a high pressure enema!

Lesson 33 Hand drawings are quick and easy (sometimes) but they don't half give you a crick in the neck and cramp in your hand (sooooo used to computer use now, drawings down the pan!).

Lesson from Saturday (and the last two times he's moved): force Nick to hire a van if he's moving house, and under no circumstances move everything on foot. Even if he does have wheeled suitcases.

Was it worth the pint and the pain?

There was no pint! But he did kindly buy me lunch. My muscles still ache slightly, but it's all good... it's weakness leaving the body (so a t-shirt tells me).

I learnt today that according to Zavvi, Frank Turner is classified as 'Metal'. Not sure if this will affect Lizzie, Chrissie and Claire's attendance of the gig in a couple of weeks!
Sure don't sound like metal to me...I know he was in Million Dead, but seriously someone needs to listen to these things before categorising them surely?

Roddy Woomble appeared in the Rock section... I know he used to be in Idlewild and they were kinda harsh to begin with, but he's DEFINATELY folk (and soft folk at that!). I'm waiting for my preorder to arrive
Today I learned that its not just slow walking people that I wanna punch in the back of the head... its slow cyclists too! (A couple were cycling side by side at walking pace, I politely called for them to move... no response, so I started hitting my bike horn and then flew past them with no room!

I got yelled at

)
(I think) I also intend to learn what the thai burger at GBK is like

thanks christine!

I hope it cost less than £9, else you could have picked it up yesterday like me! :D
I'm quite tempted by the Chilli, Cajun or Mexican burgers tonight...

I'm sure some of you've seen this before, but...
I learned that...
At a recent computer expo (COMDEX), Bill Gates reportedly compared the computer industry with the auto industry and stated:
'If GM had kept up with technology like the computer industry has, we would all be driving $25.00 cars that got 1,000 miles to the gallon.'
In response to Bill's comments, General Motors issued a press release stating:
"If GM had developed technology like Microsoft, we would all be driving cars with the following characteristics:
1. For no reason whatsoever, your car would crash........Twice a day.
2. Every time they repainted the lines in the road, you would have to buy a new car.
3. Occasionally your car would die on the freeway for no reason. You would have to pull to the side of the road, close all of the windows, shut off the car, restart it and reopen the windows before you could continue. For some reason you would simply accept this.
4. Occasionally, executing a manoeuvre such as a left turn would cause your car to shut down and refuse to restart, in which case you would have to reinstall the engine.
5. Macintosh would make a car that was powered by the sun, was reliable, five times as fast and twice as easy to drive - but would run on only five percent of the roads.
6. The oil, water temperature and alternator warning lights would all be replaced by a single 'This Car Has Performed An Illegal Operation' warning light.
7. The airbag system would ask 'Are you sure?' before deploying.
8. Occasionally, for no reason whatsoever, your car would lock you out and refuse to let you in until you simultaneously lifted the door handle, turned the key and grabbed hold of the radio antenna.
9. Every time a new car was introduced car buyers would have to learn how to drive all over again because none of the controls would operate in the same manner as the old car.
10. You'd have to press the 'Start' button to turn the engine off.

Lesson 34 A student graphic designer has won a £35k competition to design the Royal Mint's new coins. The first new design for 40 years apparently. What a cool thing to have on your CV!
You can see the new designs here

Lesson 35 Car body repairs are very very expensive. It will cost £454.88 to repair my dented car with a new bumper etc. The person who hit my car is a going to have a very, very painful cheque to write.
