biggest disappointment will be if the 3G iPhone is not available until August in the UK.
Damn right! My O2 contract is up around christmas... if I'm to even consider the iphone, the price needs to be reasonable! I'm currently paying £25 a month and getting more than enough txts and calls!

More iPhone news for you because I know you really love my fetish for this device!
Apple files a patent for a solar voltaic cell being positioned underneath a touch screen. It would not generate much power but because the iPhone and iTouch would have a cell over the whole front face it could be more effective than any other mobile on the market.
Apple boosts their orders for flash drives (that go in the Air, iPhone and iTouch. The interesting thing is that usually Apple peaks in ordering are at times when other manufacturers do the same. This time the demand is way down and Apple are ordering like crazy!

Here should be the last iPhone post I make pre WWDC on Monday 9 June 2008. The only other one after that should be the first post from an iPhone! The article lists the round up of rumours for the iPhone. Pretty interesting, including interest in the price.
Oh and the market share of the iPhone has dipped in Q1 of this year in the US. That is probably because they have not been selling any in the last month!

CNet reported at 11:32 today (US of A time) that Apple are releasing the much (here) anticipated iPhone 3G. I am very excited and have not even read the rest of the article yet!

The only disapointment for me is that lack of a 32gb top of the range model and 16gb mid range and 8gb freebie model. I suppose I will make do with a 16gb iPhone but will have to keep hold of my iPod, else I will have to do summat else with the whole music collection. . .

Apple have updated their online store but O2 are being a bit slow. I wonder if this means that the O2 exclusive deal has ended. . . . 11 July, what am I doing that day? Buying an iPhone.

I'll wait till xmas and see what deals o2 will do me- I've been on a contract for 18months and will happily renew.
I'm hoping for 8gig ipod for day to day use, depending upon supplementary charges.

A very concice review there Al! The touch porn is a little disturbing but given your reputation for work viewing habbits probably a good thing to get the evidence off the iMac.
You were pretty lucky with the ending of a contract. I have got till the 31 July before my contract ends but I will be ringing them up soon to make sure it stops on the 11 July 2008 with a lovely pac code. I don't mind a small overlap but need to cancel the contract before the end of the month. Will deffo go for the 16gb version. Is John going to get one too?

Looking at the Tarrifs I think I will get the 16GB version on the £35 tarrif.
They are sneaky, if you don't use the extra minutes from the £45 tarrif then you could potentially be paying £180 more for the phone over the life of the contract. If you are using the minutes then fair play, you will be able to get £100 off the 16gb version.
Also, just found out I still won't be able to use the minutes on the BT internet openzone membership I have, these are coming included with an O2 contract.

I am not in work today, i finally took that holiday day :), so i have no idea if john is hoping to get one. I believe he will be though. Its the 8 gig model for me £99 well spent i think. bit annoyed at the wide difference in mins and texts between the £30 and £35 contract though. £30 would be nicer.
Really glad its only £99 and also really glad i took my old one back :D. Vodaphone were surprisingly ok with cancelling my contract even though i had just renewed it and got a new handset...
anyone want a N81 8gig nokia? £99?
