Talking of German words (and the glorious soap that is Neighbours on another discussion post)...Paul Robinson used the word 'schadenfreude' today - now what other soap brings you that level of intellectual stimulation???

Emphatic - simply because I used it to describe TB's silly hand gestures. Much prefer that gent Two Jags - They are understandable hand gestures. . . .

I see a trend in your posts yesterday all focused on this word. It seems appropriate that you have decided to nominate this as your word of the day. :D

i spent many long hours trying to decide on a word that hasn't yet been used for this thread, researched many long books about language, got distracted and then watched tv for a day and a half and finally opened a dictionary on a random page and came up with
procrastinate
winipek says: Procrastination is the deferment or avoidance of an action or task and is often linked to perfectionism. For the person procrastinating this may result in stress, a sense of guilt, the loss of productivity, the creation of crisis, and the chagrin of others for not fulfilling one's responsibilities or commitments. While it is normal for individuals to procrastinate to some degree, it becomes a problem when it impedes normal functioning. Chronic procrastination may be a sign of an underlying psychological or physiological disorder.
The word itself comes from the Latin word procrastinatus: pro- (forward) and crastinus (of tomorrow). The term's first known appearance was in Edward Hall's Chronicle (The union of the two noble and illustre famelies of Lancestre and Yorke), first published sometime before 1548.[1] The sermon reflected procrastination's connection at the time to task avoidance or delay, volition or will, and sin.
i copied this "as is" because in the end i couldn't decide how to edit it down
