France are by far looking to be the favourites with a 34-7 win over wales at the weekend. Maybe we are not playing too badly at all and France are just overwhelming! :D

The only consolation is that the last time a team looked as good as France was New Zealand in 1999 and they lost in the semi-final. However, that loss was to France. Which is a bit of a bummer statistic at the moment!

Wales did have their moments, especially one or two good counter-attacks when France lost possession, but France looked pretty solid. I will be in total awe of the England squad if they retain the title.

I'm looking forward to Saturdays match, apparently we're putting out our strongest squad so we should wipe the Yanks aside with ease! :)

Oh...wait a minute...that'll be his best side minus Wilkinson who has twisted his ankle in training!

BBC Sport article here.

I didn't say or do anything...

I heard the Wilko news about five minutes after Kev at work told me Hodgson hadn't made the squad. surely you've gotta back him even if he's not match-fit? still normal-fit tho hee hee. ah, so many rugby players, so little time!!!

It is a shame and we can guarantee that we did not jinx him this time. I hope Hodgson gets match fit asap it will be good to see him back on the pitch! :D

The problem is Claire, is that this is a forum consisting mainly of men, who all (as far as I'm aware) are of a heterosexual persuasion. This means it's very difficult for us to carry on the smut when talking about male rugby players!

You find us some pretty female rugby players and we'll gladly carry on the smut!

You wouldn't believe where second rows have to put their hands in a scrum...

I'm still not too hopeful for England, but at least the first game should be a bit of a morale booster. We'll need it.

Wow. Argentina vs France...that was one hell of a game, and I would recommend trying to watch it if you haven't already done so. Great first match, but I won't spoil it with the results.
