Robbie Keane can't count.
Price- £19million from spurs
Sold, 6 months later for.... £10million! back to spurs!

so thats effectively a 6month lease for £9mil!
makes the Tevez saga look like a bargain!

Cautionary Tale if you are going to Fly-Tip don't dump stuff that has your name and address on it over 7,000 times. The article describes how the police caught a woman who dumped her Son's 15 bags of fan mail.

On a side note it just goes to show that if the Police have the name and address of a criminal or their next of kin they can bust em pretty darn fast.

When? They are still arguing over where it's going to be and whether you have to take "The People's Club" with you and groundshare, or whether they get to have their own "Tesco Value Stadium" somewhere else!

Green Revolution in China. This is what the UK and Europe needs to do, stop the studies and start the investment. It may go wrong but at the end of the day it is better to go wrong and learn some lessons than be left behind!

The Rubble Club, an organisation providing 'bereavement support' to architects who see their creations torn down within their career!

Didn't know you lot were such a touchy bunch! In web development, you quite often see projects you've worked long and hard on get trashed or turned off when the business no longer likes their new toy...we just suck it up and get on with it! ;-)

Ronaldo goes to Real for £80million. Its everywhere at the moment- so I can't be bothered to link it

My take is that its a STUPID amount of money for one (admittedly talented) player. United did the right thing selling him- he's been disruptive for the last couple of seasons (whilst scoring LOADS of goals). With the money they can afford to buy a few top class players to potentially supplement their squad.
new right back- silva looks good, but needs experience?
winger- giggs is aging FINALLY!! Ronaldo is gone and Nani... (Al- over to you  ) Ribery worth a punt??
I'd also be tempted to say they could do with a 25+ goals a season striker. (RVN was the last I can think of). Benzema has been touted.
With Kaka going to Real for £46mil United can now afford to buy more or less whoever they like... Or chip in £20mill and buy Newcastle United. (I KNOW I said that on facebook, but it highlights the ridiculous sum united got for ONE player!)

I can't disagree with a word of that assesment. One man does not a team make and for all his undoubted skill, Ronaldo was begining to forget that football is a team sport. As Lord Fergie of Titlesville has proved in the past, he doesn't like ego; Beckham was shipped off to Real Madrid when Fergie decided that the media whirlwind around his (and various hangers-on) were having an adverse effect on the team, same has happened here.

Sure he'll be tough to replace, he's scored a stupid amount of goals over the last two seasons and has been pretty productive from the assist point of view, but maybe this will result in a shift of playing style and maybe seeing Rooney playing up front again rather than wasting his talent out wide.

I think Ribery would be worth a go, although not for the silly money Bayern want. Benzema looks like the sort of player that Rooney or Berbatov could work well with.

As for wingers, we have Tosic from Serbia playing in the Reserves trying to bulk himself up for the Premier League and we also get some 17 year old wonder-kid from Serbia in 2010 so we might be able to limp along with Fletcher and Park out-wide till they're ready! Nani wouldn't be good enough to play in our work's 7-a-side team in my opinion and any way possible to get him out of Manchester should be considered!

Sainsburys install Kinetic Plate at a new shop that generate sufficient energy to power the check-out's for the store. Not bad considering all it does is sit there and let people drive over it! Imagine these every so often on the motorways, we could create a whole network of power plants.

Aye, but can you imagine the chaos as they installed them?

That is a good point. I think that we should still do it though!

They dig up (well, cone off) miles of motorway at a time anyway, so as long as they synchronise installation with planned manintenance work it's all good.

Sweet technology though, and the pay-back period looks fairly short as well: 3-5 years if I read that correctly.

Soooooo not the approach they would take! They'd probably install them about 6 weeks after digging up the motorway for some other reason!

10 Hydrogen Cars will be provided to 1 UK city for prototype testing. Apparently achieving 300 miles to the gallon (equivalent) and free maintenance and fuel involved in the lease for £200 a month. This is not too shabby as things go. It will be interesting to see how the experiment progresses. I had heard that Manchester was being considered for this test.

The design for the car is also 'open source' and its designs are freely available on the internet to be improved upon.
