What is man-flu?

It's what Phil's wife reckons he's got!

The Urban Dictionary defines it as such:

"A bad or heavy cold that males interpret as being the flu. The real flu would knock them off their feet."

Don't forget, it only applies to men because women never mis-interpret or exaggerate any illness. Ever.

Was that a big creaking sound I heard then Mr_e? I think you've stepped onto some thin ice...be prepared for the wrath of Lizzie, Liz and Claire!

Working in a department full of women, I have to say, you are completely and utterly correct there.

There is a time every month when I venture in the staff room just to purely say that men are brilliant AND that seriously pisses them off.

I think I'm safe, as those three haven't been on the forums in a while. Unless they're plotting revenge as we speak in their special secret sub-forum lair. There is a (non-serious and deeply sarcastic) comment I'm dying to make on PMT but I really can't, or else I might get accused of misogyny again.

They must all love you at work, Andy.

Mysogynists !!!

I think this thread should be re-named 'woman hating' !!!

I don't think you can describe it as 'Woman Hating' to admit that they as a sex have PMT, it is a chemical and Biological accepted fact. There is a Male equivalent but I can not recall the name at this point. Don't worry women, we love you all, just don't try and refute the Aunt Erma! :D

To be honest I think they, like me, secretly enjoying the ''ear bashing'' we give to both sexes. Many a time they have screamed ''MEN!!'' at the top of their voices after dealing with the management. It is all done in jest. Prime example was today when Sue announced that we would have to have another English teacher next year. Kirsten said ''make him a fit one''. Rachel said, ''yeah, he's gotta be tanned.'' I chipped in with ''if its a woman make sure shes got a really fit body that doesn't hang in all the wrong places'' and then they laughed. Why did they laugh? Secretly, I think, women enjoy a blokey style conversation and I think they appreciate that I don't really give a shit unlike the other blokes in this school when talking with the department and they realise all the joking is done tongue in cheek.

Why on earth did you mention Nick? He's never there!!

As for this misogyny thread - i'm torn between rising to the bait and just chuckling at you men. i don't have much pent-up anger at the moment (had a good shout at a year 10 today  ) so i'll just laugh at John as he's dug a proverbial hole again. hehe.

I agree with you Andy on the new employee thing. we got about 8 new staff this time and the women were unanimously disgusted that we were down one fit bloke and reimbursed by two marrieds and a defo not, the rest being more bloody women!!! we did spend an extended period extolling the "virtues" of various rugby players at lunch today, though

Ooh, tough crowd.

Mike, the male equivalent of PMT is "omg it's just man-flu now go peel me a grape and get the chocolate from the fridge I'm in a pain you men will never know".

Women are great, especially for their willingness to show mercy. I'm really not doing my best to shake the "misogynist" label here, but I'm sure you all know my true feelings on the matter. Hopefully, anyway, or I'm in trouble.
