Give it time and I am sure the Master will make a memorable reappearance!

I really hope not. Sinister men dressed in black might make for easy plotting, but it's so predictable....

Hello everyone. I hoped that you all watched the latest christmas special of Doctor Who. I have it on tape at the moment (on loan to parental Units) but if you want to watch it let me know.
It was interesting outing for the new Doctor. I have heard complaints online that he spent too long in bed ill. . . . however, I very much liked the crazy, eccentric manner of the new Doctor. I hope that he does not quit after a single series like the last one.
At the end of the episode there was a cut scene showing clips from the series (due to be aired in spring 2007) which looked fabulous. I cannie wait for it to start! :D

I agree Mike. I like David Tennant when I saw him in Cassanova and I have to say that, in my opinion, he did not disappoint. He is a very good actor in his own right and I think he is quirky enough to pull it off. His facial expressions certainly made me laugh out loud.
I thought the episode was a good one. The Insane Xmas tree was a little too much to swallow and the cup of tea bit was a bit far fetched but hey, in the grand scheme of things, Doctor Who needs to be lighthearted. Like you, I read that he spent too much time in his bedclothes but that didn't actually retract from it for me. Any excuse for more screen time for Billie Piper certainly gets my vote.
The trailer for Spring 2006 looks good. I hope Tennant doesn't quit as well but I fear he will.

Just to rub it in mate.... It was really, really, really good.
You missed one of the greatest moments of our time (well, possibly not, but it was damn fine entertainment).

Well, I've seen it now, and it's not bad. I just might be getting a bit fed up of that waste of space Mickey character, but the rest is promising.
Roll on the new series....

I thought I would revive this post as Mr. T made his Doctor Who debut last night on BBC 1. I watched it today and after a great deal of hype I was slightly disappointed. I suppose it is because I never really liked the character ''Cassandra'' in the previous series. There are some characters that I am destined not to like and she is one of them. My only saving grace was that Mickey wasn't in it bar three seconds at the beginning. Thankyou! Hopefully, they have realised he is a waste of space.
The story was on the whole a good one - thought provooking, etc, this is what happens if we screw up, etc, giant cats will be our future nurses, etc. Hang on! WTF! Giant cats will be our nurses is going a little too far!!!!!
In respect to David Tenant, I thought it was a good debut, nothing wrong with it but a lot that can be put right. He has good facial expressions but he does not dominate the scene like Ecclestone did. He can tell a good joke and has the quirkiness for the role so, all being well, that should come with time. I personally hope that in future episodes, Tenant will gain some of the dynamic / randomness that Ecclestone brought to the role - he was a bit too obvious.
Looking at the special effects it would appear that the BBC has given them a sizeable budget which should bode well for the future.

It gave Billie piper a chance to shine, quite adorable...
Not at all bad, quite funny, very entertaining and bodes well for the series as a whole.
I didn't like the Cassandra character either.

I liked last nights episode too. I thought it was rather funny and Billie Pipper surprised me again. I did not think that she would manage to cope with the change in person so entertainingly. I also thought that the Doctor was well acted. Not at all a dissapointment after Mr Ecclestone.
mr_e I have a tape you can watch if you so desire. :D
