Transformers Toys
You would not believe how excited I am by the Transformers being re-released as Toys. I was in Toy's R Us buying a pressie for my niece when I saw the original design SkySwipe and two Autobot cars (Tracks and Jacks?). I really, really wanted to buy it as it is the exact same model I owned as a kid but in pristine condition.
Lizzie was not impressed but I really, really want to get it now!
The saddest thing was that I was looking at the old design toys and compared with the new. The older ones are much better than the new. . . . and I am only 26. . . how sad is that!

And you took the piss out of me for buying Masters of the Universe remakes. How ironic ....
I personally think the new remakes of any of the 80s toys are cool. The transformers have been re-released from some company every year because they are soooo popular - a few years ago my uni mate Stuart bought these ridiculously expensive Takara (I think) die cast replicas that were really, really quality and immensely cool. gen 2 are good remakes. Cyberton are decent toys as well.
I will check them out certainly but regarding purchase, I am not so sure. (Maybe Prime though! and if they had a Galvatron then yup, I would)

On a slightly off-topic note, I found what I was looking for, Andy:
The first clash between Unicron and Primus came when Unicron succeeded in his goal of consuming the universe. As he slumbered in the void, he hadn't been thorough enough - tiny fragments of the universe remained, and reacted with each other, creating the Big Bang that bore the current universe. The universe grew around Unicron, and when he awoke, he did not question it, and merely began to consume it again. The sapient core of the universe responded by creating a guardian to battle Unicron - and this was Primus.
Thank you, Wikipedia.
I remember being slightly jealous of the kids whose parents bought them loads of transformer toys. They were totally the toy to have in the mid-80s. Is anyone else considering going through their attic to find their old toys now?

It would be interesting to root them out of the attic and see what they are like. I may be tempted to sell the old ones a buy pristine new ones with the proceeds! :D
I did not mock the buying in particular, only the number! You had a spare bedroom FULL of them! :D

We can't possibly play with them! It might reduce their resale value.
Having said that, mine were pretty well-used, so I've not got much fear of that. We could indeed have a Transformer (plus He-Man and Thundercats) nostalgia evening, but I can imagine a few rolled eyes from other halves...

Thundercats was indeed cool. As I said to you at Pool mr_e, I bought Lion-o and Mumra the Ever-Living on ebay for £12 a few years ago - bargain basement stuff! I also bought 'Thundercats - The Origin' cartoon book and having just flicked through it realised that they were all naked at the beginning! Weird as anything!

Are they now accessible for viewing pleasure? The booking failed! I will have to try again later. I hope they did not charge my credit card with the booking anyway!
