what do you think?
Chi Sinn
Human / Male / Fighter / Lawful Neutral
A skilled swordsman, musician and sometime poet, Chi Sinn is a modest young man with a simple wish; to achieve perfect harmony between his soul and the pulse of the universe. A dedicated pupil of the teachings of the celebrated thinker Quinn Tao, who believed enlightenment could only be accomplished once the body and mind worked in such complete unison the physical and mental became indefinable, Chi was nominated by his sensei to walk what is known as the pilgrim’s path. This ancient rite of passage is open to only the most promising students who are believed to be able to face their own limitations and benefit from the experience. With the blessing of the grand council Chi entered the chamber of pilgrimage on the afternoon marking his twenty-eighth year since birth, and was transported many hundreds of miles from the temple to begin the journey home and toward possible enlightenment.
Warrior’s Code
Ostensibly a scholarly order of fighters extolling the importance of intelligence to be the equal of swordplay, they shun the use of heavy armour and shields as a hindrance to the art of combat and prefer natural reflex and unintrusive magic to defend themselves. Followers of the temple may only call upon magic rings, bands or clothes as protection.
Disciplined not only in the practice of combat but in its science, members of the order excel in the use of their chosen weapon and will not carry other varieties of blade viewing additional arms as an unnecessary distraction.
Magic Items
In relation to the conditions related above, Chi to begin with will carry a single longsword of a plus level suitable to the circumstances of the adventure scenario being played. If the DM is feeling particularly generous he might take note of these suggestions, enhancing the blade to become a sword of dancing, sharpness or have vorpul capabilities.
Owing to his order’s disdain for armour, Chi will find it necessary to start on the pilgrim’s path with the protection offered by a magic ring, band or cloak subject to the DM’s discretion.
Equipment
Aside from the limitations of weapons and armour placed on Chi by the scriptures of his temple, the fighter is free to use any other items of either magical or non-magical origin as referred to in the standard rules described in the player’s handbook.
