And deserves our praise.

nope, not in my mind.
It is Mike - he plans everything in so much detail that he makes my mother look unorganised. That is some feat by the way.

Don't depress him! At least give him a week of being happy and excited before you bring him down and make him be all 'professional'!

Professional is good, Al! I was done with being a student. i think the only thing i really and consistently miss is my NUS card. it stinks having to pay ?6 for the cinema.

i miss the lectures, weird i know, but sometimes at work i really miss getting to talk to other reasonable people about russian literature. if only i'd stayed on and done a master's instead of thinking i had to join the real world and get a 'proper' job

Hmm...I quite enjoyed the late starts and the total lack of real responsibility. The cheap beer was a bonus as well.

Can't say that I'm unhappy about the lack of exams and projects to do though. Oh yes, and I now have the money to buy expensive beer...maybe this grown up malarkey isn't all that bad!

cheap beer is best because you can drink more of it and really make that hangover seem worth the effort and embarassment

Well I graduated last night. We had a talk from Roger Stephenson who looked like he had not really read the info and did not quite know what was going on.

Then there were the NW RIBA 2006 awards discussed and presented.

Then we had a talk from Paul Hyatt which was moderately interesting though his talk about Manchester centred around a exhibition in London. . .

Finally there was the graduation.

We managed to finish only 15 minutes later than specified which was good and John Hickley was the highlight of the evening! :D

Afterward my parents treated Lizzie and I to dinner at the Royal Orchid which was fabulous. I chose a very, very hot thai dish by accident which was sooooo sooooo powerful it was almost painful. All good though! :D Thanks folks! :D
