Stupid Mike

Post by Mike »

Has lost his stupid Mobile in the Pub yesterday evening - I don't get it, it must have literally fallen out of my pocket. If the pub can not find the device today I am going to have to pay a Kings Ransom to Orange for a new one or try and get a very cheap pay-as-you go phone and sim and put a new contract sim in it.

I was offered the following options.
1) Pay £300 for a new phone
2) Pay £100 for a new phone and be tied into a £6 per month Orange Care contract.
3) Pay £15 for a new sim card for an old phone. Which I don't have because I sold it to Orange.

The most annoying thing is the stupidity and the loss of numbers AND the smug tone of the Orange operator - though that may have been my annoyance / upset at the whole event.

If you need to get me now it will be office / home or Lizzie's phone!

I can let you have an old phone, but you probably won't like it very much...

How on Earth did that happen? You didn't move from your seat for the entire evening! I bet you lost it when Lizzie and Chrissie were attacking you...ask the pub to check down the side of the sofa!

Will be doing that today - have had to report it missing to Orange just in case though.

They claim not to have found it. . . . I honestly don't understand how or why. It is really weird. . . . oh well. Suppose it happens and a really old or really cheap phone will not be any worse than the pile of rubbish I had anyway! :D

Well they are not out but if they crack them to work on any network then I might be interested. I think I will go with new sim with old / basic new phone to get me back in contact. :D

I have a Nokia 6310i charged and ready to go if you want it. I would eventually like it back, because these have incredibly long battery life, probably 17 days or so even when being used.

If they can't find a cake tin, then I wouldn't hold out for a mobile phone. One of the staff might just be a kleptomaniac, or someone dishonest nabbed the seat after us...

Yes Please, thank you! It will be very useful. I have a sim card on the way and it will take about 3 working days. They have said that I am liable for any calls made before the blacklist was applied at 11:30pm though. I personally think I was very consciencious in reporting the phone missing so will challenge that if calls to the Australian talking clock are listed on the phone.

I did not use it at the pub - I think it boils down to the type of trousers I was wearing - the pockets are very lose. . . . oh well. I have new sim card now and old phone - hopefully it will all work nicely. . . . . :D Might look into getting a more interesting phone second hand - or wait for an iPhone, it might be a Tymorian blessing in disguise! :D :D

Have received three out of four sim updates. . . . I am waiting on the fourth which can apparently take up to 24 hours. Goodness me this is a total pain in the buttock!

The old phone is slightly frustraiting - it is like going back to dial up internet. . . . not that I am ungrateful you understand. . . .

Orange were very frustraiting. I phoned them this morning saying

"I have received 3 of the 4 sim updates but can not send texts or make calls from the phone - can you please resend the fourth text"

They did not seem to understand that this was the key and tried to diagnose the phone as having a problem. It took forever and I would have still been on the phone if the fourth text had not arrived mid diagnostic!
