Nice one. Now, the question is...which shirt to wear? Decisions, decisions!

Mental note: must buy more non-work shirts. Which shirt is far too easy a decision for me.

I'll meet you in Piccadilly, Al, seeing as I'm going to go for a mooch round town at some point. Depending on when I get up, of course...

Ok Mr_e. I was thinking of being at the station about 5-ish. I've no doubt that I'll be able to spot you! :D

For those of you that are coming on Saturday I have booked a table for 4 at Est Est Est Albert Dock at 6.45 (the next available being at 9)- so you guys will have to get an earlier train if that's ok.

You will need to laise with Mike about which train as I'll already be in Liverpool.

Since the meal has been booked for 6:45 the train times have changed a bit. They are now 16:43 at Stockport or 17:07 in Piccadilly which seems to be a bit of a weird one. Gets us there for 18:01 and enough time to moch down to the albert dock. Is phil and becky going to be there?

Time change duly noted. I doubt Phil will make it as we're going earlier. Not sure when his lacrosse match finishes probably late afternoon, but if he's then got to patch up his wounds, get ready (put on a slightly smarter pair of shorts!) and get into town for 17:00...not even Superman could do such a quick turn-around.

I'll text Becky anyway and tell her there's an invitation for them both.

Sod Superman, I'm sure Phil can have a good go at getting there for five.

I shall be at Piccadilly a bit earlier, then, and still as easily spottable by Al.

The results are in and Saturday was cool! The meal in est est est left me feeling really full, even stuffed, but it was just sooooo nice. The drinks before and afterwards were good and the banter was on top form. Hope everyone else enjoyed it. . . . . :D

Indeed, it was a good night. 'Est Est Est' was very nice, top quality grub in a nice location. As you say, the banter was on top form as always. Mr_e and I even managed to get on a chav-free train back to Mancunia! :D

Glad to hear you did not fall asleep and end up on the train! Sorry we could not fit everyone in the car but it seemed better for two people to get the train than one! :D

We ended up on a Victoria terminating train anyway, so even if we had fallen asleep, we'd have been rudely woken by a grumpy train person and turfed off without too many concerns.

It really wasn't a problem getting the train, it was sensible to have two people on the train at that time (not that there were many people on it anyway) and mr_e and I are the awkward gits who don't live in the SK postcode region.

I wonder how much a taxi from Liverpool to Manc is if we wanted to do a later night? If you pre-booked a six/seven seater and filled it, I wouldn't think it would be too expensive.

I decided to walk down from Victoria and get the 192 back. Got in at about half one in the end, but it's cheaper than a taxi anyway. What time did the "SK-code four" make it out of Liverpool?

To be honest, I'd quite like to do an earlier night, and see a bit more of Liverpool when it's actually light, but that may be best done once more of the building work's completed.

'Twas a most pleasant evening: the meal was indeed very nice, the panacotta dessert went down very well, and the banter was indeed on top form. Don't believe that Christine lady if she tells you my face lies, however. It's all a terrible misunderstanding!

We left a night club (where we met Becca) at about 12:30 and got back at about 1:30! :D

The fact you got back the same time I did is somewhat depressing, given I left about an hour and a half before you! 'Tis the way of the bus-train combo, though.
