For all you wino's out there
Greenergrassdesign has a really cool wine rack check it out
here. You can store the wine by the neck sticking out of the wall - what a great idea!

The wine rack looks cool, but I can just imagine some freak Final Destination style accident: turn around with heavy item, break bottle off, slip on floor and rip jugular vein open on protruding bottle neck.

mr_e has a fertile imagination.
This design will have to be acrefully installed - if it wasn't vertical there could be unwanted effects, such as all the wine bottles falling out. That would be a criminal waste of good wine. And I know it's good wine because Mike and Lizzie will have chosen it...

Well you say chosen but it will really be just suggested by the books and ahem supermarkets! :D

At least the wine selection would be a fairly educated decision, unlike my "lucky dip" method.
John, you should know from the Darwin Awards site that crazy accidents like that happen far too often.

Fair point - how do you know it is not my method too?! Honestly you would have to be an alcoholic to try that much wine to find a favourite. On the other hand - why waste your drunkenness on bad wine!

Shouldn't that be "why waste good wine on drunkenness?". Serve the good wine first, then you can go slowly downhill with the quality of wine once everyone has no tastebuds left. Just don't let anyone see the bottle.

I usually go for the range that Supermarkets suggest - Asda's Extra Special or Tesco's Finest. Not done me wrong so far. But then again, I don't really know what I am searching for....... I just quite like the taste. I know I am a long way from sniffing a bottle, having a sip and saying something like ''wonderful aromatic flavours would go perfect with a rare fillet of beef steak''

I only mention aromatic flavours if pulling someones leg, so to speak.
However, if you go down to Threshers there are many exciting wines at around £5.99 to £8.99 per bottle. The Pretty Lady behind the counter will do a Buy Two Get One Free offer, which brings us back down to Tesco/Asda good wine prices.
Much better wines too.
