I learned that it's pretty cool when your boss sends round an email telling everyone to down tools. He decided that today wasn't fun, so we should call it a day n go for a pint instead.

Nice!

Nice boss there! I wonder if he saw sunshine outside and could not be bothered!

We are using disposable napoies at the moment! Will have time to change in future but the initial shock of feeding and hospital is all time consuming. Will check out the website in a week or so!

The whole baby thing is a massive shock to the system. You don't realise how demanding they can be but fortunately you forget soon enough (otherwise people would only ever have one)

Biggles stories can save lives! This pilot suffered only minor injuries by trying to mimic a Biggles story and landing into a tree, pancake style.
Biggles Rescue wrote:What he does is he flies into the wood, and, as he flies into the wood, he pulls the stick back to pancake onto trees - and I just did that. I just stalled into the tree.

Things learnt yesterday in fact. On Countryfile, they were doing this piece about the environmental impact of eating meat, in particular beef. And John Craven (lo, the Newsround god has spoken) said that the cattle of the world produce more greenhouse gases (methane is something like 25 x more harmful than CO2) than all the cars, planes and trains etc combined! Golly.

I was amazed that the majority of the methane was released when they burped and not through other bodily functions...

Thinking back through my life's romantic history thus far, I think I can almost 100% safely say that I've avoided snogging cows...!

Hey, there's no accounting for what happens during drunken blackouts. Even if they happen miles from the hearest farmyard animal.

Stupid chuffing drivers.

I stopped in stop-start traffic which couldn't have been doing more than 2mph, broke to a standstill but then inadvertantly slid into the back of the car in front. Nothing I could do...it's rubbish weather and the council haven't cleared the roads. We 'bumped' like when you bump into a kerb, however she has taken all my insurance details and mobile phone photos of both cars...however there's NO damage!

I've not even transferred any of the dirt from my car onto hers, if she claims then I'm going to ask for a total investigation into the damage because she has NONE! Chuffing American claim culture!

I'm going to inform my insurance company just to let them be on the aware side...chuffing cow!

That does sound ever-so slightly ridiculous.
I learned that: Mountain bike + warm clothing + 2inches of fresh pristine snow - any cars on the backstreets = AMAZING FUN cycle to work!! (I took the longer more scenic backstreet route coz its a BEAUTIFUL day, and I knew that I'm alone in the lab... so who cares if I'm late!) :-D :-D why can't every day be like that?

Agreed. She'll have a fight on her hands if she does try to claim...stupid chuffing cow!

Nicely done with the cycle...I bet the crisp, crunching sounds were ace!
