The Chicago Spire has been thought up by Calatrava the famous engineer / architect. The rendering on this website is amazing! The ground work has already started and they will have completed massive pile foundations in the first quarter of 2008. Pretty impressive to do 35 120ft holes with foundation structure in little under 9 months!

The external view renders are cool: the interior shots are almost impossible to distinguish from photos at first glance. The building itself has a very appealing form to it (especially for a skyscraper), and it looks like it's going to include the full mix of residential apartments in it. Good luck to 'em.
