New ipods launched. I'm afraid that I'd snap one within minutes, but they are COOL!

Re: Apple fanboy facts
They are very nice indeed. Also they announced that iTunes 8 has been released with some new and improved GUI, Genius playlists (to prompt you to buy similar music to your collection from their iTunes store - very clever idea!) and the basis for the release of iPhone / iTouch software 2.1 on Friday.
I liked the line up before, don't want a nano but it is still pretty impressive.

Re: Apple fanboy facts
Engadget have reviewed a Sony all in one PC that looks remarkable familiar, anyone see it? The review results suggest that no other all in one (including the iMac) can do more and faster. Well, meh, suppose you test a new range of computers against an ageing model you are bound to find this out!

Re: Apple fanboy facts
I read an online review yesterday where IT professionals were complaining that Apple update their OS X when updates are compeleted without a definite structure akin to Microsoft's update Tuesday. They said this made it difficult to plan when to update their Macs used in enterprise locations, as they complete all the testing for one update, release it to the company and then may have to do it all again tomorrow! Their suggested solution was to never update beacuse it was too much hastle!
Well. I thought about this and came to the conclusion that they are morons. What does this tell us about their work and management techniques? It tells us that they feel they have to bounce onto an update as soon as it comes in and they can not exercise any administrative control over their working patterns. Then their solution - not to bother. WTF?! Surely the way around it (if your organisation is so stuck in a rut it can not think its way out of what could be described as a very very simple 'problem') is to only check for updates and test once a week or once a fortnight on a single designated day. Ignore the fact they have been released until your plan says you can deal with it, not just ignore it and hope that the problem goes away!
I would even go so far as to say this is not actually a problem. Honestly who ever was quoted in that article really needs a reality check. I wish I could remember which site it was on, I think it was either a Mac news website or cNet - I will try and find it again later. Thus we could probably assume that that company is such a behamoth that it is not able to see an alternative to their standard working practice and have been so used to Microsoft spoon feeding them they can't cope with independent thought.

Re: Apple fanboy facts
Anyone turned on the Genius Playlists yet? I did last night and have just selected a Reuben track on my iPod and selected the 'Create Genius Playlist' option.
Now Reuben are what is described as post-hardcore, so bringing back some Biffy Clyro, Alexisonfire and Slipknot was making for a pretty loud and heavy playlist for my last half hour...then it went psycho and gave me Newton Faulkner, the Who, Blur and Maximo Park...eh? Not that they're bad songs but just not eactly 'Genius' suggestions!

Re: Apple fanboy facts
Has anyone seen the new mac laptops? They have a really nice glossy screen, are LED back lit with both the screens and the key and look sleek as. My favourite part of the new machines is the fact they are made from a single block or extruded aluminim. The manufacturing process on their website looks amazing. I would love to own one. Rock on a lottery win first though ((don't know how I am going to convince Lizzie a £10 win is going to get me a MacBook though!)

These are the images of the new MacBook and MacBook Pro! They are only £949. . . . shame that I am only £935 short of being able to afford it

Will keep trying with the pennies but I think it may take more serious efforts in the saving department. As it happens though the pennies are all going into the baby saving fund. I want to buy myself one of those first!

Absolutely understand they are public, don't think anyone would believe I am actually in the Market as it were. Will be happy with the one being brewed in the old fashioned way.

Damn... I'll need to cancel that order for a newborn I just placed.
Back on topic: the Mac laptops look very nice. That's about all I have to say on the matter. I do trust Apple enough to assume they work pretty well too.
