I am pleased to announce that version 3 of my website is now LIVE! This is a bit of a surprise creating after playing with iWeb on my new computer. It automates the publishing of photographic galleries onto the site and should make it much more easily up-datable. I am looking forward to publishing MANY more galleries in the coming weeks - no more stress and strain for me!

The new website took about 4 hours to build in iWeb which puts Dreamweaver in the massive slow lane (for home web building anyway!). I am sure Dreamweaver is much better for the commercial person but who has the time for a hobby?

I have changed the layout slightly and hope that you like it. If you have any comments or problems please let me know as I can resurrect version 2 if there is a significant problem.

Love that black.

The link to the forum is in white and all the others are in red, but otherwiise it seems perfect. The front page photograph is very striking. I presume the statue is thinking about the female posterior walking away in the background!

The links are set to be white after you visit the link . . . i might change that for clarity. It looks better as v3 in the address rather than http://www.rileyuk.org/www.rileyuk.org/home or whatever it was - the repeating web address was winding me up in my sleep so much I had to go and change it this morning!

The statue was taken in Cuba and is off the 'Old Man of Paris'. I don't remember why he was called this except he wandered around Havanna every day in ragged finery and spoke lots of french. . . quite popular from what I remember. Glad you like the photo - now it is easily updatable I might change it to suit my mood. Rock on apple - did you notice the 'made on a mac' logo?

If you click on Forums at the top of the page you come to a page with a link that doesn't work. Do you need two different ways into the forum?

Lizzie has mentioned the same thing but the link works for me just fine. I don't know if I need another way into the forums but I thought it might be nice. I suppose I could alter the html file to make sure that you just got redirected. Will think about it. It is pretty strange though.

It is amazing how quiet it is around here recently. I think I must have driven everyone off!

Maybe the link works for you because it's your computer? This sort of thing often happens with photos getting cached but being invisible to everyone else.

Talking of photos, what did you think of the modified one I sent you?

I thought it was very good. It is a shame that the quality of the original is sooooo bad. It is the way it happens though. It was really good to have your help, no diggedy no doubt.

It worked on the work computer too though - that was not used to create the site. . .

Well it just goes to show how easy it now is. It took an hour and a half to build 14 photo galleries and over one hour to upload them all! Rock on. Will try and do one gallery a day from now on to make sure you don't get too overloaded with information. There are some never before seen images on there so have fun!

I'm liking the new design, especially seeing as I can't access the old ones because they've been hacked. Again. The galleries are really cool, much easier to browse as well. The front page is loking dead professional, which is probably to be expected. Bravo!

Yup, sorry about the old pages being hacked. . . . it was my own stupid fault for not checking the file permissions of the web pages - the index page was set to allow anyone to read, write and execute files. Stupid mike (or stupid apple on their exporting from iweb). I have changed that now so hopefully, no more problems (will check all the other pages now!).

Glad that you like it, you should now be able to get the new pages simply by going to http://www.rileyuk.org (if you see the hacked sign you need to force refresh (hold control then the refresh button - or is it alt? I can't remember!)

I have uploaded two new galleries (as of yesterday evening) Wii Party and Lizzie's Honeymoon Photographs. My photos of Cuba will follow soon and will hopefully be to the same high standard.

On a side note I have re-exported and uploaded the forum page. I was told that the text saying link (at the end of the sentence) was not working. I have uploaded again and it works fine now. Hope that helps. I might update again to automatically forward when the page is loaded.
