Re: In the News
I very rarely get work-mail, most stuff seems to be email or online magazines for the stuff I'm interested in (having said that, I'm not a huge fan of reading online, tend to lose concentration quicker for some reason). Learning Tree insist on sending me a course brochure every few months or so though.
My boss gets tons of rubbish through, mainly from recruitment agencies which all finds itself fast heading towards the recycling bin!

Playstation unveils gimic to thier PS3 console. Why try to bolt a Wii controller onto a serious gaming machine?

Re: In the News
About the junk mail, am reading Going Postal by Mr. Pratchett at the moment. Seems strangely appropriate.
The games designers just need to learn how to use the technology. It seems a little more sophisticated and responsive than the Wii in terms of response to angle and position relative to the screen - for example, in FPS games this would allow blind firing (shooting around corners without line of sight). The sword-and-shield demo towards the end was kind of awesome as well, and the enhanced responsiveness of the controller seems to allow this to happen better than the Wii does at present.Mike wrote:Why try to bolt a Wii controller onto a serious gaming machine?

Man assaulted officer with penis. How could you not click on a link like that? It's okay, it's from the BBC site...

Two thoughts. Either how tall was the drunk or how tiny was the PC to enable him to thrust towards her face?!mr_e wrote:Man assaulted officer with penis. How could you not click on a link like that? It's okay, it's from the BBC site...

You'd think they'd have learnt from that other incident involving the written word and cameras, although at least it wasn't top-secret documents this time.

Re: In the News
Cuba starts a privatisation process for small businesses to try and curb large scale theft from state owned businesses. I wonder if this will be a success. The state owned media have not been covering the change over but I am sure that it will be happening.

Liverpool F.C up for sale. I wonder what the asking price will be. Should I do a Glazier and buy the club with debt and then pile all the debt on the club? Why not, if an american can do it why not I?!

£500 million would do it apparently!Mike wrote:Liverpool F.C up for sale. I wonder what the asking price will be. Should I do a Glazier and buy the club with debt and then pile all the debt on the club? Why not, if an american can do it why not I?!
If you do decide to step into the world of leveraged buy-outs can you ensure that you'll be keeping Rafa as club manager as he really hasn't got a clue...which makes it very funny for us United fans (and Evertonians).

Apparently boys "prefer cars from early on"
They reckon using children as young as nine months old means this is a sign of "intrinsic" differences? They aren't giving young children enough credit. Even at that age I would have thought a child would be heavily imprinted on certain colours and things through their immediate environment and observing others.
BREAKING NEWS! The wasp in my room has figured out only the lower part of my window could be opened for it to leave after about an hour of annoying the hell out of me.
