Exciting Month for Wii Games

Post by Mike »

Three games are out that I am very excited about,

Mario Kart Wii with a very respectable 89 from Meta Critic.
Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 with a good 84 from Meta Critic.
Worms with a poor 64. I think this one is going to go onto the back burner for now as it is missing the online playability which would have been amazing.

Both MKwii and PES8 are on my shopping list too! Although if PES6 was any yardstick it could KILL my social life!

MKWii is also pre-ordered here. I'll put PES on my birthday list, although I may cave in earlier!

Like Phil, it may totally take over my life...must get Mario finished before my b'day then!

Don't tell Lizzie though, I have just spent £61 on games. . . . I am actually feeling very, very guilty about that at the moment what a strange impulse buy!

Don't tell Lizzie
Oh dear, not quite getting the whole public forum on the internet thing are we?

I on the other hand have learned my husband skills... I'm gonna wait till she's away on business (then she won't spot the amazon boxes).

And I don't have to answer to anyone apart from my own guilt (and the bank manager if I don't pay the cc bill).

You mean this is not a private conversation!? eek what am I going to do?!

I suppose that just goes to show I don't really mind if she does find out. It will be quite interesting because we will see if she EVER checks the games section and mentions this conversation. Don't mention it and I will report back! :-D

It has not been mentioned so I must assume that this is a safe forum to post all my Lizzie keeping secrets. . . . ;-)

It is exciting that the PES has been dispatched and I am expecting it today / tomorrow. I am hoping that I will be able to arrange a Saturday soon where we can all come round and play a tournament. For all you football fans (or competitive freaks like me) out there I am sure it will be an exciting thing to do with a loose Sat. :-D

Lizzie found out when I actually left the game case out over the weekend. . . I thought she was well and truly in the picture before then but meh.

Pro Evolution Soccer is a really amazing game. I played online vs a friend last night and despite a shaky start managed to beat him in the second game 4-3 (the first game I went down 5-3). The tactics you have to use against a human opponent is so very different to the computer it is untrue. Still, nothing beats the (computer game) feeling when you pull the defence apart and score an amazing goal. ;-)

PS At low leagues the computer is pretty dumb and you can win games 10-0 frequently. :-D

Super Smash Bros Brawl is another exciting game. I have bought too many already this month but it gets a meta critic 94 which is very high! I think I will have to get very good at the Pro Evo and Mario Kart before I get another game. . . such a shame.
