5 Franklin Place NYC

Archinect have some interesting images for a new 20 storey residential tower on Franklin Place in NYC. This is supposed to be UN Studio's first major project in the US of A so it will be interesting to see how it pans out.

it vaguely reminds me of a cd rack, or perhaps an index file? Certainly distinctive and unique tho. I think I like it.

Visually it does seem to look like a stack of files, which is going to look very distinct from (out-of-place with?) the neo-classical stuff on the rest of the street. I like the idea in itself, but I'm not convinced as to how it's going to look in context.

I will look a bit like the New Museum on Bowery Street. Not out of place, just very modern when compared to its neighbours!
