To go with your kit house and book stairs, why not add a Hansen Instant Kitchen.

Quite an ingenious idea actually for small flats, it comes complete with oven, gas jets, sink, refrigerator and some shelving. I can tell you it looks a damn sight better than my current kitchen and would probably fit in half the space. All you need to do is hook up the water and electricity (guessing the gas is via calor gas bottles) and away you go!

Hopefully at least one of the two flats I'm seeing Saturday morning (oh goody, no lie-in for me!) will have a decent kitchen already. However, if I were refurbishing my current flat (where the kitchen and living area are in the same space) then I would definitely consider something like that. It'd take up less space than my current kitchen area AND give me a proper oven/hob as opposed to the rubbish thing I'm using at the moment!
