The bomb alarm clock sounds fun, I bet it would much less fun first thing in the morning.

Here are a series of bike rack holding devices that have been designed by competition for NYC. They are pretty innovative, I like the way they have used the I Love New York logo to create a bike holder!

A breathing, blinking, heart beating robot cuddly toy?! This just seems weird. When you shake the toy it's heard and breathing goes faster and it slows down when you cuddle it. It is covered in Egyptian cotton and slightly warm to the touch. []

A rather interesting set of photographs can be found Here. I might have to download some of the images for my desktop in work.

Iwan Baan Photography has some really cool images on the website. I really liked the speeding train image about 10-15 in from the first image. (the link shows that image) :-D

Concrete that turns pollution into harmless nitrates that will nourish and fertilise the surrounding soil. Good idea but I wonder what happens when the soil becomes too full on nitrates? Is there a happy medium then followed by a deadly dose of fertiliser?

One minor snag is that it's made using titanium dioxide. There seems to be something inherently unsustainable about that (asides from it being concrete as well).

I think concrete is pretty sustainable. You can break it up back into aggregate and recycle the steel reinforcement bars. I think it is usually used as hardcore though because it is quite difficult to recycle which is a bad point.

Peter Eisenman has started work on his City of Culture. It sticks out like a sore thumb at the moment but if completed as planned then it should blend into the Santiago Hills!

Though at the moment it looks more like a gigantic skateboarders delight.

Risk new design and pay the price as a £1.7 million pound settlement is agreed for Manchester's B of the Bang. Lets go ahead and design some crap standard sculpture instead shall we? At least it is tried and tested and will not get us in trouble.

A website that shows a large number of old computer designs. We have come a long way in computer technology and some of this stuff looks like it should be in a museum!
