Friends Reunited

Post by johnriley1uk »

I'm not really into looking backwards, much preferring the present and whatever the future has to hold. However, Hazel eventually persuaded me to sign up to Friends Reunited.

Sure enough a couple of people have made contact, from my primary school days. Amazing. One tells me that I used to "hold small children enthralled by tales of glass roads and giants" and I'm amazed that anyone remembers the stories I used to make up to tell the class. That was so long ago....

The whole thing is quite surreal and I'm not quite sure how to react to it.

I wouldn't be quite so severe as that Fez, but in many ways I agree with you. Don't revisit the past for the sake of it. It's gone.

Meeting even a close friend from many years ago it's only a matter of hello, how nice to see you, have a good life and cheerio....things move on.

Is it true that it's now free to contact people? Not that that's going to have me running back to it...

It is now free you are not wrong! I am not that bothered by chasing up old friends. It is sort of weird when people contact you on facebook from yesteryear. I guess it's nostalgic but pretty harmless.

I signed up a few years ago but only to the University section as that was the part of my life that I virtually enjoyed every minute of and have some excellent memories from. I find that facebook is an easier mode of interaction though. I have old friends from High School but they have become acquaintances now.
