Dexter Series One

Dexter Morgan is a lab tech for the Miami Police Department. He studies blood splatter reports on murder cases, has a damaged girlfriend called Rita who had a Herion addict ex husband and two kids and has a serious problem with intimacy due to his rapes and beatings. This suits Dexter as he has intimacy issues too that coupled with his affinity with serial killers that makes him a cold calculating and rather sinister lab tech. This may be because his nightly mission is to kill murderers who think they have escaped the Police system.

Using the code set out by his foster father, Harry, he has cleany and efficiently been an unknown killer in Miami for nearly a decade. This season follows Dexter, his sister Deb, Miami PD and family as they try to find a serial killer called the Ice Truck Killer. Dexter is part fascinated and part awe struck by the Killers cleverness and wholy enjoys the chase and games between the two of them.

Dexter is a famtastic programme and should be seen. The characters are appealing, Dexter is sinister and disturbing in equal measure and all the cast are good actors. rating is very easilly deserved!

I have just found out that Dexter is based on a series of books by Jeff Lindsay! I wonder of they are any good. I will have to try and read the copy in the Holiday cottage and see!
