Robin Hood was watched today at a Cinema in Liverpool. It was a nice film but I don't think that it was a classic. 3s.

Wolverine. It was actually not bad, big action scenes and just enough story to make it compelling. The sfx were very good, especially the fight with a helicopter and the powerstation. Did not expect to enjoy but it was okay. I am veering between Phils 3.5 stars and a 3 star rating. Not an amazing film but easilly enjoyable!

3s

St Trinians 2: Frittons Gold. Well. Not really a convincing story, very childlike as you would expect. I did not really enjoy this film, it was obvious a cash in on St Trinians rather than a good new story. It was not turned off so I guess a 2s rating is appropriate.

Totally disagree, it's just the male version of SATC 2!

Inception. Dream thieves go too deep. This film is amazing, super visual and had me on the edge of my seat for about an hour. Without doubt the BEST film I have seen this year. 5s.

Pauly Shore is Dead. Worst piece of a documentary type comedy ever. Do not watch.

Seven Pounds. Quality through and through. Who knew Will Smith could act this well?!

Babel: 4s
Beautifully shot and acted, very human and non-judgemental. Weak butterfly-effect plot though.

Will be trying to watch Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs next.

Have just seen the first few minutes then had to halt, if it continues along the same lines it should be excellent. Spray-on shoes = win.

SALT: 4s
Saw this a while ago, was surprised at how watchable it was. Huge plot holes, gloriously over the top action sequences yet a very serious tone- this renders it like a cross between the old Bond films and The Bourne Identity.

Harry Brown: 3s or 4s depending on my mood.
Michael Caine and the rest of the cast make this better then it maybe should be. It's basically a revenge fantasy set in a decaying London estate. Not very sensitive with its subject matter, but good visual mood and visceral qualities.

Black Swan: 4s
A somewhat unsubtle (almost relentlessly intense) portrait of a ballerina under stress. Camerawork is brilliant, especially when it swirls amongst the dancers. The generally slightly shaky hand-held feel adds a lot to the film. All goes a bit psychological horror near the end, which almost feels out of place but still works. Intense! Also: sapphic scene.

Four Lions: 4s
Watched this a week or so ago, and wasn't surprised to find out it was written by Chris Morris: there were moments when I didn't know whether to laugh or be shocked, but then again it is a comedy about British-Muslim extremists. Some nice one-liners in it, and the out-takes are very much worth a watch as well.
