Another cool house in Slovenia of all places! Bevk Perovic Architects have completed this modernist dream in Slovenia, I really like the controlled use of Rheinzinc Cladding and the riggeur that they have applied in setting out, spacing and setting. Very suitable for the place although I wonder how long it will take for the big glass door to fail.



Bevk Perovic Architects second house in Slovenia. This in my opinion is the stronger of the two houses. Although the concrete exposed structure is very well done here but it can be very difficult to achieve.

Pugh Scarpa Architects have completed a set of homes for support services and rehabilitation for homeless and mentally disabled people in Santa Monica, California. The building is very industrial which I presume is a reflection on their limited budget for the building. Can anyone else spot the mistake on the image below, I suspected that it was an error at first glance and the elevation further down the page proves it.

In 1972 the Architectural Collective Ant Farm (what that means I don't know) won house of the Century with the design below. I don't know about you but this collective were either all young men or all young women. Surely that has to be a true statement, who else would design a house to look as phalic as that?! They have even put testies on it for goodness sake. In fact this may reflect poorly on me rather than them but it just had to be said.

The sale price? A cool $15 million. Nicely done Frank! It is not one of his works that I am familiar with which is slighly embarrasing but highly ornate and a good displace of the Zeitgeist!

Suppose Design Office have created a very interesting and unusual pyramid house. The design must mean there are no windows in the bedrooms but maybe that is not so much of a problem!

Cadence an Indian firm of Architects have released photographs of a house in Bangalore. This is quite interesting because the house is dedicated to keeping the sunshine out - a principle most unlike the UK housing that is all about bringing the sunshine in.

House in Nagoya by Suppose Design Office. This house is beautiful and not only that but they have PEOPLE in their pictures. Amazing. I wonder how long it is going to take for the plants behind glass screens to die - it must be difficult to water the little dears.



And the image of people in the house just to confirm it has been done. Architect's don't often like having the public cluttering up thier architecture. Personally I don't agree and like to see the spaces populated.

It would just be a very embarrasing toilet trip for your friends. . . . and family. . . . okay just about everyone.

The plane was just plain strange (see what I did there?!). It obviously needed the full wings to be fully 'cool'.

That is my kind of tree house. I wonder if the inside is one big cushion.

Airstream House by Tank Architects as posted on Dezeen.com. I don't quite know why it is using the name Airstream. Airstream is the classic aluminium caravan design but it does not appear to be the same as the house below. Very odd. I posted this because I liked the image and I definitely liked the drawings within the article.



House by Rocha Tombal also on Dezeen.com. I like the windows in this design, the ultra smooth, frameless look is very very strong. I am not sure about timber on houses, they do require some maintenance as it gets older and the junction between the ground and the timber is very difficult to get right in terms of durability. However, that said, the overall image looks good at the moment so well done!

Crusch Alba by Gus Wustermann. He has converted his apartment in true 'intervention' style by segregating the layers of old and new. It highlights very nicely the timeline of the building with the new elements being harmonious with the old.

Precast House is pretty nice but I don't like all of the internal spaces. The bedrooms seem to be particularly weak and based on the fact there is not furniture in any of the rooms it is hard to see how it would ever work!
